NAOMI – A001

Got myself a sweet NAOMI 🙂 Actually, I’ve had it for ages but only just got around to cleaning it up and making sure it works properly. Unfortunately I have no games for it! 🙂

The power has been converted to run at UK 240V which is great because it doesn’t take up any of my step-down transformer plug spaces. Pretty handy.

The control panel works just fine but is only set up for one player. It has two joysticks but the second isn’t wired up so is basically a spare. I’ll get a new loom for it at some point, consider that added to my immense Ramcade ‘to-do’ list.

The case is in reasonable condition, not the worst I’ve had but it’s not perfect. I like to own arcade machines that look like they have been in arcades, I don’t normally go for the minty fresh look because I think well used ones show a bit of character. Just me, I know!

The screen is nice and clear and bright (or at least to my eyes it is!) but has a touch of screen burn when the screen goes white. It’s the kind of burn that looks more like faint shadows

The sound amp works perfectly and the speakers are great.

The light at the top doesn;t come on. I’m not sure if it’s the bulb or the circuitry but it hardly bothers me so sorting it out will go to the bottom of the (very long) list!

So I need to find some games for it! I already have 2 consoles I want to plug into it and a Neo-Geo one slot. I think the one slot will win out but we’ll see. I can’t do anything until I get another Jammafier. Yet another thing on the list!
