New Net City (A009)

Another lovely New net City. I really do Like these cabinets!

This one is in generally cood condition although has some marks on the case, it has been well used over the years!

As usual I’ve got rid of most of the locks and removed the Control Panel catch mechanism too. Either they didn;t work or just annoyed me 🙂

The control panel currently only has a single player, 3 buttoin loom that I stole out of a NAOMI, I’ll be ordering a 2L4B loom and replacing it as soon as it arrives

I had a bit of bother with the left speaker so i replaced it with a NAOMI speaker. I can;t tell the difference but i might upgrade the speakers at some point in the future. Being as I can;t tell the difference this is going to be low on my priority list!

The screen is generally bright and has good geometry. Don’t forget I have my handy dandy engineers monitor adjustment board so i can adjust the geometry depending on the board I put in. Cave games are notorius for needing tweeks to the screen geometry. As it is with Daioujou i am very happy with it.

As all New net Cities the screen is tri sync so has no bother sweapping between screen resolutions for JVS and JAMMA games (which means I don;t need to use my upscaler as I do with the NAOMIs I have)

The screen does have a bit of screen burn or some kind of mark (not sure which it is) which you don’t notice until the screen goes all white. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest because that’s hardly ever, and when you are concentrating on a game it’s invisible to me anyway! I’ve captured it in the video so you can see it.

The base has what I think is a link board and a Namco connector on the bread board. I have no idea what game these are for and I haven’t tested the link board because I have nothing to link to. Assuming it works though it could be a nice little tool to use in the future for a fighting game maybe, assuming that’s what it’s for!

The wiring is JVS so I have to use the little Jammafier JAMMA to JVS adapter to get any JAMMA games to work.

The power is Japanese so requires a step-down transformer to run.

The marquee is original, which is pretty rare, but unfortunately I don’t have any art to put in it at the moment. I should probably at least print something out!

It’s a great machine and I love it. I rotated the screen so all those lovely Cave shooters have a nice home 🙂
