Do Not, I Repeat, Do Not Play Wasteland 2 {if you want a life}

For no apparent reason, I decided to sign up for Microsoft’s GamePass for PC subscription service. Just £1 for 3 months. Absolute steal.

So there I was cheekily installing a few games “to see what they are like” and the rest is a bit of a blur.

I remember clicking on “install” for a few games and have a vague recollection of thinking “that Fallout looking game, made by the original designer of Fallout {or something like that} looks ok, I’ll add that to the install list”. Then I went to get a coffee.

I maybe got distracted by some cat videos and probably something about owning gold and maybe there was a bit of time for some Gabba Dad headbanging around my flat.

Eventually, I got back to the downloaded game list in the M$ store and clicked play on one of them.

Then something happened. Not quite sure what. It certainly wasn’t sleep. and it certainly wasn’t sorting out my really screwed up life. It wasn’t making cups of tea and it wasn’t getting a shower. It wasn’t eating and it didn’t involve leaving my PC for any reason whatsoever.

I somehow managed to escape and get myself to a coffee shop, where I am writing this from, so I could think about the last two days from relative safety.

And all I can think of are psycho rabbits, if only I’d got the lock-picking perk, exploding plant pods, I need more fucking ammo, I hope there’re no traps in this toaster, a 45% chance with my last round of ammo is good enough and angry mega-maggots.

I’m scared to go back to my flat and turn on my PC. Truth is that I don’t remember if I even turned it off.

DO NOT PLAY WASTELAND 2. It’s a perfect blend of turn-based RPG Fallout goodness and you must avoid it at all costs.
